Description: Captain Bunshichi Koyama is a tremendously creative knifemaker from Japan. His designs are truly innovative -- often combining ancient and modern materials into whimsical, unique creations.
This folder features a 3-1/2" VG10 suminagashi damascus san mai blade. VG-10 provides ultra-high performance with stain resistance. The blade is hollow ground for excellent edge geometry.
The locking mechanism Captain Koyama created is exceptionally unique. When open, the lock is released by pressing the the base of the blade upward.
Handle scales are damascus, abalone, and goldlip mother of pearl, dovetailed toagether for a perfect fit. The scales are set on anodized titanium liners. The liners surround a Japanese lacquer backspacer. The knife is accompanied by a pocket pouch for easy carry.
Excellent work throughout from one of the most creative makers in the industry.
