Description: John is a master of mosaic Damascus, as clearly shown in this exceptional liner lock folder. The deep blues of the heat blued blade are nicely offset by the stark cream tones of the pre-ban ivory scales.
The blade combines images of grape leaves, bunches of grapes, wine bottles, and wine glasses. The complex mosaic patterns show up in bright silver tones across the blue backdrop. The blade has silky-smooth action and is easily opened using the fileworked thumb stud. Pre-ban ivory scales are set on heat blued 1084 carbon steel liners that have been meticulously fileworked. Each of the screws has been hand fileworked. The interior has been mirror polished. The Damascus backbar has been fileworked and shows off the same pattern as the blade. Exceptional work throughout!
