Description: Swedish bladesmith Michael Andersson is a force to be reckoned with. Unlike many Nordic knifemakers, Michael believes very strongly in sole authorship, from forging the blade to shape, to creating the Damascus, to sewing the sheath. His style is immediately identifiable and is very dramatic.
The composite mosaic Damascus blade combines a central mosaic Damascus bar with a firecracker pattern edge and spine. The central bar was forged from pure nickel along with mild steel for a particularly bold pattern. The edge and spine are forged from 15N20 and 20C carbon steels for exceptional edge holding.
The Damascus blade leads into the sculpted wood and ivory handle. Exhibition grade desert ironwood surrounds fossil mammoth ivory for a very comfortable grip in the hand and an engaging appearance for the eye. The mammoth ivory is predominantly deep blue in tone. Damascus fittings pull the weight back into the handle. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
