Description: An exceptional utility knife from Gary Biggers! The 1080 carbon steel blade was flat ground with a convex edge, resulting in a keen, long lasting edge. A distal taper results in a perfect balance in the hand. The blade was differentially heat treated with an edge quench and shows a dramatic hamon (heat treatment line) with marked choji.
The guard and pommel are both formed from brass and are perfectly fit to the sculpted ironwood handle. Black fiber spacers provide a nice contrast and allow the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. Excellent work throughout.
