Description: Swedish knifemaker Greger Forselius has a flair for design. This handle on this Swedish Puukko has been highly sculpted. The resulting shape is well rounded, fitting securely and comfortably in the hand. This knife has been in a private collection since it was made in the fall of 2005. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances, it could have been made yesterday.
The blade is hand ground by Forselius from stainless damascus forged by Damasteel. The pattern shows off well both from a distance and up close.
The handle combines caramel toned cross-cut mammoth ivory, ebony, damascus, and stabilized giraffe bone. Fileworked nickel silver spacers separate sections. The butt is sculpted from cross- cut ancient mammoth ivory and results in a very secure grip in the hand. The ivory shows off terrific grain structure. Decorative mosaic pins at the center of the stabilized giraffe bone add a nice highlight.
The knife is accompanied by a custom traditional Swedish leather sheath.
Excellent work throughout.
