Description: Sundial is Jeff Driscoll's masterwork to date, with over 300 hours spent creating this knife. Jeff Driscoll has an amazing sense of design, creating unique knives that are extremely well executed. He pulls heavily on Nordic knives, using blades from the best bladesmiths from Nordic countries. His work is done primarily without the use of motorized tools, which allows him to hand-carve the handles in much more detail than would be done using motorized knifemaking tools.
The Andre Andersson blade was forged in Sweden from 15N20 and 20C carbon steels for exceptional edge retention and an immediately captivating appearance. The highly sculpted hand was formed from sections of African blackwood, desert ironwood and thuya burl. The work is exceptional and results in a handle that is very comfortable in the hand.
The wooden sheath reflects the handle in style and is formed from Swedish masur birch burl. The tip conceals a mini knife with a handle formed from African blackwood. It's perfect for opening packages, opening envelopes, etc. Two brass pins secure the mini blade in place. All this is held by the antiqued brass presentation stand. Excellent work throughout on a very unique knife.
