Description: Ron Best creates a dramatic knife -- and recently Ron has focused on making integral knives. This technique shows tremendous control -- the steel parts, from blade to guard and handle are all made from one piece of steel. The result is an exceptional knife.
The grind lines are very clear and well performed. The hollow ground blade will have a strong edge that is easy to maintain. The upswept blade features a false edge that has been brought just short of being fully sharpened. The blade has been meticulously hand satin finished. The integral D-2 handle has been sculpted and meticulously inlaid with exhibition grade fossil mammoth ivory. The steel throughout the handle has been mirror polished. The balance point is in just behind the guard, making it sit securely in the hand. Exceptional fit and finish throughout on a very captivating, elegant knife.
This knife was featured on page 114 of the June 2006 issue of Blade Magazine and page 78 of Knives 2007..
