Description: Larry began this gentleman's bowie from river sand. The technique has been used for over 1500 years in Japan to create a steel known as 'jewel steel' or tamahagane. Iron and other materials in the steel form an exceptional steel renowned for its edge holding and strength. The swedge is chisel ground for a very aggressive tip. German silver bolsters are sculpted and have been textured and antiqued . Stag handles sit on a full tang, providing an exceptional grip. The tang has been distal tapered so as to create an optimal balance. Exceptional work throughout.
