Description: This mammoth ivory neck knife is the sort of work that has made Daniel Winkler and Karen Shook household words in re-enactment circles throughout the world. Their knives have an authenticity and 'soul' rarely found in other makers' work.
The Damascus blade is forged to shape from 1095 and L6 carbon steels for a bold, engaging pattern. The flats have been forge textured for an antique appearance. The spine has been fileworked for a secure thumb grip. The copper ferrule, formed from pattered and antiqued copper, is surrounded by rawhide. Fossil mammoth ivory scales are attached with three nickel silver pins. A distal taper to the blade and tang results in an optimal balance in the hand. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
