Description: This captivating dagger won both "Best of Show" and the WW Cronk Award for "Best Art Knife" at the 2004 Knifemakers Guild Show. The Cronk Award is often considered among the most prestigious awards of the year.
The blade is a 3 bar composite combining a central section of straight tapered nickel lines surrounded with Dragonskin pattern Damascus. This has all been hot blued. This bluing technique produces a stronger coloring than nitre bluing and does not affect the heat treatment. Inset into the base of the blade is a Stanhope lens. This hallmark of Bertie's work reveals his logo when spied through.
The guard and pommel are both sculpted from hot blued stainless steel and are inlaid with 24kt gold details. The handle is formed from deep blue lapis lazuli. Exceptional work throughout!
