Description: Raymond Richard's designs have a timeless grace about them that comes from a family heritage of knifemaking and the inclusion of hard to find materials.
This large upswept Bowie has a feel almost like that of a cutlass -- with the upswept blade and S-guard. The W-2 carbon steel blade has been antiqued. The differential temper line is clearly visible on the blade, resulting in an edge that is extremely hard and will stay sharp through extended use, whereas the spine is softer and supportive.
The guard and butt are forged from wrought iron that was recovered from an 1850s era anchor chain. The wrought iron has a Damascene pattern and has been carved to perfection. A hammered finish continues the antiqued feel to the knife. The kingwood handle is comfortable in the hand and has warm red tones and a nice grain structure. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
