Description: Anders performed a traditional Japanese clay tempering on this blade, resulting in a unique temper line (hamon). The double hamon is particularly appealing and shows tremendous control over the process. As a result of this technique, the center of the blade is soft and resilient, whereas edge is very hard and will hold an exceptional edge.
The highly figured redwood burl handle and sheath show Anders' full skill as a woodworker, acquired as a furniture maker in Sweden prior to becoming a knifemaker. The sterling silve fittings are brush finished and antiqued. Showing tremendous skill and a Japanese influence acquired during his apprenticeship under Scott Slobodian, the knife fully disassembles using a single pin. Anders attention to detail is complete, and his fit and finish is exceptional.
