Description: This exceptional hunter is the creation of Mastersmith Ed Caffrey. The blade is forged to shape from 52100 carbon steel and was given a differential heat treatment. 52100 is the high performance steel made famous by Mastersmith Ed Fowler. It has a spectacular 'toothy' edge that is razor sharp and holds on to it for an amazing length of time. A distal taper results in a very aggressive point and excellent balance. The blade meets perfectly up to the sculpted nickel silver guard. The handle has been sculpted from a single piece of fossilized walrus ivory. The left side is bark ivory and has a nice mix of textures and colors. The right side reveals the core section of the ivory and is a nice cream tone. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
