Description: Neil McKee's Ebony File Knife is a great knife and an impressive period piece. The knife was forged from on old file that was originally formed from W2 carbon steel. The differential hardening line is a style that Neil calls "grassfire". This dramatic heat treatment line is as captivating to look at as it is successful at creating a long lasting, superior edge. The ferrule is forged from mild steel and meets up nicely with the octagonal ebony handle. The spine has been fileworked for a secure thumb purchase. Excellent work throughout
