Description: Neil McKee is well known for his knives which draw their inspiration from an earlier era. This Indian style knife with its beadwork sheath by John Yashinski is exceptional.
The 1084 carbon steel blade is antiqued and textured on the flats. The elk antler handle fits comfortably into the hand, swelling toward the butt for a secure hold.
John's sheath is a reproduction of a Cheyenne sheath from the 1880s. The front panel is made from brain tanned deer hide. The back is buffalo rawhide. Elk sinew was used to sew the seams. The tin cones are handmade. The beadwork is sewn using elk sinew (very traditional). The beads are old stock, ca. 1890s Czechoslovakian seed beads. Excellent work throughout.
