Blade: Pressure flaked Utah "mud" stone
Handle: English boxwood and desert ironwood
Description: English boxwood and desert ironwood are pyrographed with a traditional three-cord plait Celtic knot pattern. The blade is pressure flaked from the unusual "mud" stone from Utah, actually a fossil bog material distinguished from shale by its lack of fissility. American black walnut display box sets off this one-of-a-kind show piece.
The team of Tom Sterling and JP Higgins is a formidable force. Joe Higgins, who has been flint knapping knives for over 10 years, created the blade of this masterpiece with precision. This skill is matched in the detailed handle created by Tom Sterling, who has brought his attention to detail learned as an internationally known netsuke artist to this piece.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
