Description: This large, elegant Bowie is an exceptional knife created by Kevin Harvey. He made it back in late 2004 and it has been in a single collection since it was made. It has been meticulously cared for and does not appear to have been used to cut.
The 8-2/3 inch long blade was forged to shape from 5160 carbon steel. A different heat treatment combines exceptional edge holding with strength and durability. The spine is quite thick, measuring in at just under 1/4". A distal taper to both the blade and full tang results in an optimal balance. Brass bolsters have been engraved by Kevin to tremendous detail. The giraffe shin bone scales are set on fiber spacers so as to allow it to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. Brass pins and a lanyard hole finish out the handle. The bowie is accompanied by a hand tooled leather sheath. Excellent work throughout!
