Description: Jim's hunting knives are as sturdy as they are elegant. A hunter himself, as well as a backwoodsman, his knives have been heavily tested in the field over the years yet are dramatic enough for any collection.
The blade is forged from carbon steels into a pattern that James calls Basket Weave Loop. Spirographs of basket weave mosaic Damascus criss-cross each other in a captivating pattern that is detailed enough to be fascinating when viewed up close, but has bold details that can be seen from a distance. By combining 1084 and L6 carbon steels, Jim assures that this blade will have exceptional edge retention.
The spalted maple handle has been stabilized and dyed, making a reliable and sturdy handle even under the difficult conditions of the outdoors. The wood has absorbed the red dye, showing off deep black spalting lines. Spacers are formed from pre-ban ivory, nickel silver, and dyed and stabilized box elder burl. The fit and finish is excellent. Perfect balance in the hand. Numbered C103.
