Description: Jim's hunting knives are as sturdy as they are elegant. A hunter himself, as well as a backwoodsman, his knives have been heavily tested in the field over the years yet are dramatic enough for any collection.
The blade is forged from carbon steels into a pattern that James calls Basket Weave Loop. Spirographs of basket weave mosaic Damascus criss-cross each other in a captivating pattern. By combining 1084 and L6 carbon steels, Jim assures that this blade will have exceptional edge retention.
The box elder burl handle has been stabilized, making a reliable and sturdy handle even under the difficult conditions of the outdoors. The wood has absorbed the dye differentially, revealing a complex grain structure. Spacers are formed from pre-ban ivory, nickel silver, black fiber, and real turquoise from Pixie Mine, NV. Both the guard and butt cap are forged from Damascus matching the blade. The fit and finish is excellent. Perfect balance in the hand. Numbered C98.
