Description: Jim's hunting knives are as sturdy as they are elegant. A hunter himself, as well as a backwoodsman, his knives have been heavily tested in the field over the years.
The blade is forged from carbon steels along with nickel for a very high contrast pattern that James calls "Filigree Loop". Persian ribbons move across a detailed Damascus filigree that only gets more complex with further examination. The result is a Damascus pattern that is both detailed enough to be seen from a distance and captivating up close. By combining a wide range of steels, Jim has assured an exceptional range of tones in the Damascus.
The whitetail antler handle sits comfortably in either a right or lefty's hand. The front spacer is real turquoise (not reconstituted!). This has been surrounded by nickel silver and black fiber (allowing the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. A moose has been carved and scrimshawed on the right side of the handle. At the crown, Tori has carved and colored a moose track.
The guard is forged from Damascus matching the blade, revealing the pattern on the front face. The fit and finish is excellent. The blade has been tapered for a perfect balance in the hand. Numbered C93.
