Description: Jim's knives are as sturdy as they are elegant. A hunter himself, as well as a backwoodsman, his knives have been heavily tested in the field over the years yet are dramatic enough for any collection.
The long blade is forged from carbon steels into a pattern that James calls Snake pattern Damascus. A snake-like ribbon travels across a detailed radial background. The "snake" has tremendous complexity, as does the background. The Damascus mixes bold patterns that are apparent from a distance as well as detailed figures that only become clear with a close inspection.
The handle is sculpted from gemsbok horn. Much of it is left with the natural texture of the horn, creating a very secure and comfortable hold. The front spacer is created by combining nickel silver and ebony in a style that has become a hallmark of Jim's work.
Both the guard and butt cap are forged from Damascus matching the blade. The fit and finish is excellent. Perfect balance in the hand. Numbered C96.
