Description: Jim's hunting knives are as sturdy as they are elegant. A hunter himself, as well as a backwoodsman, his knives have been heavily tested in the field over the years. His artistic eye assures an engaging knife.
The blade is forged from carbon steels into a pattern that James calls Jellyroll Loops. Complex double jellyroll whirlpools are surrounded by bold Persian ribbons, resulting in a pattern that is both fascinating from a distance and captivating up close. By combining 1084 and L6 carbon steels, Jim assures that this blade will have exceptional edge retention.
The black ash burl handle has been stabilized, making a reliable and sturdy handle even under the difficult conditions of the outdoors. The swirling grain structure incorporates a nice mix of dark and light tones. An elaborate spacer created from mammoth ivory separated by nickel lines sits behind the Damascus guard. Both the guard and butt cap are forged from Damascus matching the blade. The fit and finish is excellent. The blade has been tapered for a perfect balance in the hand. Numbered 104.
