Description: Nico Pelzer's knives are a pleasure in the hand. The gently rounded surface of this small folder fits comfortably into the palm.
This is among Nico's first sole-authorship liner locks. The Damascus forming the blade is forged from Nico's first piece of Damascus. The attempt was well rewarded in a dramatic pattern. The spine has been lightly textured for a secure thumb purchase, resulting in an easy flipper style opening.
The bolsters are made from Gibeon Meteorite that landed in Great Namaqualand, Namibia, Africa, over 4 billion years ago. The Gibeon fragments are spread over one of the largest strewn fields in the world, measuring 70 miles wide by 230 miles long and have a distinctive pattern known as the Widmanstatten pattern, which is one of the richest and most distinct patterns found in meteorites.
Exhibition grade fossilized mammoth ivory scales are set on anodized, fileworked titanium liners. The scales are a deep green with veins of chocolate and burnt cream underlying the deep colors. Excellent fit and finish with a perfectly centered blade and great action.
