Description: It is clear why this masterpiece won "Best Fixed Blade" at the 2003 National Knife Collector's Association show in Springfield, MO.
The large, heavy cleaver style blade is forged from five composite bars of Damascus. By choosing 1095, L6, and 1084 carbon steels, Jody has assured that the cleaver will have exceptional edge holding. A convex grind results in a strong edge.
The ferrule is formed from a solid piece of copper. Floral pattern engraving is surrounded by sculpted grooves. African blackwood surrounds a large piece of oosic, resulting in a secure hand hold. The fit and finish -- as well as the impact of the piece as a whole -- is exceptional!
