Description: Coming back from the Blade show with journeyman smith test knives is one of my great highlights of the year. Five knives were made by each applicant that are the height of their work. These knives were judged by ABS Mastersmiths on fit and finish, as well as general artistry. The standards are exacting. This folder was one of the five knives that Jody selected as the best of his work for judging by the masters.
The hand forged blade shows off a hand rubbed satin finish. The blade is perfectly centered and has excellent action. The bolsters are created from mokume gane forged by Jody from nickel silver copper for a high contrast pattern. African blackwood scales are perfectly fit to the bolsters. As you would expect, exceptional fit and finish throughout. A spectacular collector's knife from a great maker!
