Description: Mastersmith Kevin Harvey is well known for creating replicas that have an air that captures the original work and yet adds to it. His attention to detail is spectacular. Henry Schively, noted Philadelphia cutler from the early 1800s was known for his fancy Bowie. In fact, according to legend, in 1828, James Bowie brought his knife to Schively to have a copy made -- complete with a fancy silver sheath.
The blade features Kevin's Heart Beat Damascus. A tight "heart beat" pattern rises from the blade edge, showing a random pattern spine. The integral Damascus bolster meets up perfectly with the sterling silver sheath when fully inserted. The handle is created from African blackwood and has been checkered on the sides. Three bird's eye pins highlight the handle. The blackwood is surrounded by bell metal fittings. The scabbard fits perfectly to the blade and has a frog for wearing on a belt. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
