Description: Mastersmith Bruce D. Bump is one of the most innovative knifemakers today and this recurve sub-hilt fighter shows his mastery at its best. The long, slender blade was forged to shape from 52100 carbon steel. This steel is among my favorites for edge holding -- all the more due to the differential heat treatment. This results in a soft, supportive spine with a super-hard cutting edge. The desert ironwood used on the handle is exhibition grade with tremendous color and textural variation. The lanyard loop on the pommel has a swivel.
Exceptional work throughout.
