Description: This upswept hunter/skinner by Raymond Richard has an ageless sense of grace that is rarely found in knives. The blade was forged to shape from a turn of the century circus tent stake. By grinding the stake, Ray was able to assure that it has a high carbon content and will be able to hold a great edge. A differential heat treatment assures that the spine is soft and resilient, whereas the edge is hard and will maintain a keen edge.
The wrought iron for the fittings is forged from an 1800s era anchor chain. Elk stag forms the handle -- resulting in a very secure hand hold. The butt is finished off with a wrought iron butt cap and loop.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
