Description: Raymond Richard's designs have a timeless grace about them that comes from a family heritage of knifemaking and the inclusion of hard to find materials. The 1065 carbon steel blade has been antiqued. The differential temper line is clearly visible on the blade, resulting in an edge that is extremely hard, and will stay sharp through extended use, whereas the spine is softer and supportive. A distal taper assures that the weight is pulled back out of the handle.
The guard and butt are forged from wrought iron that was recovered from an 1850s era wagon wheel. The wrought iron has a Damascene pattern and has been carved to perfection. The kingwood handle is comfortable in the hand and has warm red tones and a nice grain structure. Copper spacers highlight warm tones in the wood. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
