Description: Swedish bladesmith Michael Andersson is a force to be reckoned with. Unlike many Nordic knifemakers, Michael believes very strongly in sole authorship, from forging the blade to shape, to creating the Damascus, to sewing the sheath. His style is immediately identifiable and is very dramatic.
The Damascus blade was forged from 15N20 and 20C and flows neatly into the Damascus guard. A textured sterling silver plate forms the front of the guard. Sterling silver pins are used throughout. The guard is forged from two separate pieces of Damascus that meet neatly together. The Damascus on the guard has been sculpted. Fossil mammoth ivory scales finish out this exceptional dagger. The underlying cream tone shows off dramatic blue rivers and lakes. The full tang has been fileworked at the top. A long guard brings the weight back into the hand for a secure, reassuring hand-hold. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
