Description: The "dog bone" bowie style was popular in the 1830's. It is easily recognized by its distinctive pommel which gives the knife its name. The Dog Bone frame of this Bowie provides a very secure hold in the hand. Many of these knives were produced by the Sheffield cutlers and imported to America.
The Damascus blade has a bold Damascus pattern and will hold and exceptional edge. The long clip is chisel ground and only comes in from one side. A Spanish knotch, where the knife approaches the guard, creates a very dignified appearance. The fittings throughout are created from nickel silver. The Damascus escutcheon shows up well against the dark rosewood handle. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
