Description: Raymond Richard's designs have a timeless grace about them that comes from a family heritage of knifemaking and the inclusion of hard to find materials. The Damascus blade has a tight pattern and features a strong, convex grind. The differential temper line is clearly visible on the blade, resulting in an edge that is extremely hard, and will stay sharp through extended use, whereas the spine is softer and supportive. A distal taper assures that the weight is pulled back out of the handle.
The guard and butt are forged from wrought iron that was recovered from an 1850s era wagon wheel. The wrought iron has a nearly Damascene pattern and has been carved to perfection. The cocobolo handle is comfortable in the hand and has warm red tones and a nice grain structure. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
