Description: Hoss Bowie is among Raymond Richard's masterpieces to date. This large Bowie is nearly a sword when wielded in the hand -- the largest knife that Ray has completed to date!
The large upswept Bowie blade has a graceful false edge that moves along the spine. This pulls the weight out of the blade and creates an aggressive point. An appleseed grind assures a very strong edge.
The S-guard and fittings are hand forged from wrought iron recovered from an 1850s wagon wheel. The wrought iron has a nearly Damascene pattern. The handle is formed from a large elk antler that has been antiqued. The resulting handle is very comfortable and secure in the hand.
The monkey pod wood sheath is precision formed to the knife and is a great presentation. Excellent fit and finish throughout with a great balance.
