Description: Another fantastic creation from Raymond Richard! The spontoon hawk was a modification on the half-pike formerly borne by inferior officers of the British infantry, and used in giving signals to the soldiers. It is a formidable weapon.
The spiked head of this spontoon hawk was hand forged to shape from 1080 carbon steel. The head length is 9 1/3". The hand forged head, plus the maple wood with buckskin wrap and fringe, give this tomahawk a beautiful, rustic appearance. The head has been antiqued using the mustard technique. Brass pins stud the handle, providing a pleasing texture along the haft. This spontoon tomahawk is an wonderful addition to a hawk collection.
