Description: Roger Bergh's work is always an inspiration. Harpoon Artifact's blade is forged from three separate bars of mosaic Damascus. The edge and spine have been forged from 20C and 15N20, both steels picked for the edge holding ability. The central Damascus includes pure nickel, for a very high contrast, dramatic effect.
The is sculpted from fossil walrus ivory with deep tones of African blackwood. Both have been highly sculpted for an exceptional feel in the hand. A Damascus lanyard loop finishes off the handle.
All this is displayed on the presentation stand composed of a base of oak burl and a fossil ivory harpoon tip from the mid 1800s. Artifact pieces such as this are becoming increasingly difficult to find and here, it is used to perfectly, forming a perfect hold for the tip to rest in.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
