Description: Johan's knives are well known for their precision and artistry. This exceptional knife was created by Johan in the summer of 2000 and has been meticulously cared for since it was originally sold on BladeGallery.com. It has been in a single collection and is in new condition.
The handle and blade are forged to shape from Johan's own Damascus utilizing a san mai technique. 1870 carbon steel is surrounded by a dramatic ladder pattern nickel Damascus. The high contrast Damascus has been heat blued for an fascinating effect. The san mai technique allows the contrast of nickel Damascus with the cutting edge of pure carbon steel. The spine has been fully file-worked. Depending on the light, the iridescent blade will change from gold, to red tones, to blues a greens. The sheath is especially nicely made. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
