Description: Award winning Swedish bladesmith Henry Hildén held nothing back when he created this Swedish Bowie. The two bar composite blade is forged from a random pattern Damascus bar with a firecracker pattern edge. The edge is forged from CK 100 and 15N20 carbon steels for exceptional edge retention. The pattern is extremely clear and shows tremendous control and skill.
The handle is meticulously executed and shows both an artistic eye for design and skilled implementation. The main section of the handle is formed from desert ironwood with exceptional figure. Predominantly dark wood, lighter rings move through the handle, bringing tremendous interest. Elk antler and fossil mammoth ivory set off the dark wood in the handle. The antler at the top and butt has been carved. The mammoth ivory has been scrimshawed.
The fit and finish is extremely well executed.
