Description: Jim's hunting knives are as sturdy as they are elegant. A hunter himself, as well as a backwoodsman, his knives have been heavily tested in the field over the years.
The blade is forged from carbon steels into a pattern that James calls Kaleidoscope Flames. Detailed flame patterns are surrounded by a kaleidoscope matrix, showing the amazing amount of control that Jim has over his work. By combining 1084 and L6 carbon steels, Jim assures that this blade will have exceptional edge retention.
The box elder burl handle has been double dyed and stabilized so that it will be sturdy and reliable. Warm tones are highlighted by darker outlines around the burl. The handle features an elaborate spacer created from pre-elephant ivory, nickel, and black fiber. Both the guard and butt cap are forged from Damascus matching the blade. The fit and finish is excellent. The blade has been tapered for a perfect balance in the hand. Numbered C85.
