Description: Swedish bladesmith Roger Bergh forges one-of-a-kind sole authorship creations that have a timeless beauty and high attention to detail.
The mosaic Damascus blade is a multi-bar composite. The edge and spine have been forged into a firecracker pattern from 20C and 15N20 carbon steels -- both picked for the edge holding ability. The central Damascus includes pure nickel for a very high contrast, dramatic effect. Depicted in the steel are swimming fish moving across a turbulent mosaic sea.
Roger is particularly well known for his handle-work, where he uses particularly rare and exotic materials. The main section of the handle is formed from a solid fossil walrus ivory tip with dark caramel and cream tones. A spacer of cream toned fossil walrus ivory separates the main handle from the crosscut walrus ivory spacer and crosscut mammoth ivory bolster. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
