Description: Swedish bladesmith Roger Bergh forges one-of-a-kind sole authorship creations that have a timeless beauty and high attention to detail.
The mosaic Damascus blade is a three bar composite. The edge and spine have been forged from 20C and 15N20, both steels picked for the edge holding ability. The central Damascus includes pure nickel, for a very high contrast, dramatic effect.
The mosaic handle is formed from sculpted fossil mammoth ivory, cocobolo wood and sunken oak. The oak was recovered from a from a shipwreck that sunk over 300 years ago. The wood is extremely stable and has a grain structure that I have seen nowhere else. Cocobolo is a rainforest hardwood that has warm tones of alternating light and dark. This is surrounded by crosscut fossil mammoth ivory, showing off its spectacular grain structure.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
