Description: Jeff Driscoll has an amazing sense of design, creating unique knives that are extremely well executed. He pulls heavily on Nordic knives, using blades from the best bladesmiths from Nordic countries. This masterpiece required over 120 hours to complete.
Flutes in the octagonal handle carry the lines from the fileworked moose antler bolster and nickel silver spacer down to the shell shaped end with a pearl of wisdom inset in the butt. The pearl is real, of coarse. The sculpting shows off the spectacular color and grain of the exotic maka burl wood from Thailand.
A Styrefors mosaic Damascus hot blued blade with deep violet and blue tones completes the theme. The spider web pattern sets off the burl wood to perfection. The blade edge and spine are "monster explosion" pattern with filework.
Maori tattoos were the influence in the face cutouts of the sheath. The side and back are sculpted in a wave pattern with nickel silver sheet inlay on the side and octagonal fluted .016 nickel silver sheet on the top. The top was created from one piece and was hand bent with a brass braid and nickel silver icon on the "headdress". The back features a brass belt clip with a vine theme. The ebony base has fine silver pin inlay and suede lining on the interior.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
