Description: Mike Mann is a household name in re-creationist circles. His hand forged custom knives are created in his remote log home in the mountains of North Idaho.
This Mountain Man style knife shows his work at its best. He has been extremely true to the Hudson Bay Camp Knife style. This style of knife was much favored by trappers in America and was imported by the Hudson Bay company from the English shops of Sheffield during the first half of the nineteenth century in fairly large quantities.
In this dress model, Mike has hand forged and antiqued the large Damascus blade. Copper bolsters and pins are used throughout. The bolsters, while standard to the Hudson Bay Camp Knife during its heyday, are very unique on today's custom knives. The effect is very captivating. Thick fossilized mammoth ivory scales finish out the knife to perfection.
