Description: There is an amazing level of work that comes out of Sweden, and Henry's work is among the most inspiring. This traditional Swedish hunter features a blade formed from RWL 34 stainless steel. This steel, which is relatively unknown in the United States, is a powdered steel made in Sweden. It features a very fine grain structure. With the right heat-treat it gets scary sharp and holds the sharpness for a long time. On top of this, it is fairly easy to sharpen for the user which is something I value. It is somewhat comparable to ATS-34 in composition yet features added Vanadium. This gives it finer grain structure and adds to the edge holding.
The handle is sculpted from stabilized ash burl and has tremendous grain structure. The front has been textured, both for aesthetics and to provide a solid hold. The buffalo horn spacer continues around to conceal the tang. In one of the most unique construction that I have seen to date, Henry has fileworked the buffalo horn concealing the tang for an excellent effect. The leather sheath has been hand tooled and dyed. Amazing fit and finish throughout.
