Description: The Old West was a time when protection had to be close at hand. Pistol knives were came in use during card games and the like. Bruce has created this modern masterpiece to evoke that era. This is the second pistol knife created by Bruce, who is one of three makers (including Mastersmith Ron Newton and Wade Colter) to have made these modern recreations. It is very exciting that these three makers were awarded the prestigious Wooden Sword Award this year for their pistol knife creations. This award is given out by Knives Annual for "What the author believes is a champion of a knife among a multitude of winners" . . . the best of the best. This pistol knife won "Best of Show" at the Northwest Knife Collectors Show.
The pistol is designed for black powder muzzle loading and comes with all tools necessary for accurate measuring and deployment of the powder as well as cleaning the pistol. Tools are made from brass and copper. Shoots .22 cal. (0 buckshot).
The Damascus throughout is "Lazy Twist pattern Damascus forged from 1084 and pure nickel. The liners were given a jeweled polish on the interior. Tom Moro has engraved the barrel and double backbars to meticulous detail. The trigger has been gold plated. Bruce has made two dice from pre-ban elephant ivory, which are also held in the book.
While black powder pistols are not regulated by the ATF, please check your local ordinances before ordering. Some states such as HI, IL, MA, MI, and NJ have laws that affect ownership of black powder weapons.
