Description: This knife was created for the 1999 Art Knife Invitational, as noted in his maker's mark. To be a part of this show, makers must create some of their best work of the year and make it available at this show only, creating an exceptional level of work. This piece was bought by Wayne Levin at the show in preparation for becoming a purveyor.
As you would expect, the grind lines are meticulously done and the fit and finish exceptional. Elaine Coleman, who created the porcelain handle has signed it on the reverse. She has sculpted the porcelain handle to show a tree frog climbing through the leaves of a tree. The depiction is captivating and extremely well done. A truly amazing work of art.
