Description: I have tremendously enjoyed watching James' style develop over the last few years. With each new knife that I see from him, I feel that he has achieved a new level are artistry, fit and finish. Here, he has created a mosaic Damascus pattern that evokes that patterns of Navajo rugs with a Persian ribbon going through the middle. The level of detail is excellent. This is only matched by his artistry with the mosaic mokume used on the butt cap and bolster. Mokume is patterned Damascus created from non-ferrous metals (in this case nickel silver, brass, and copper), rather than iron based steels. Due to the difficulty of creating this material, other makers have stayed with simple patterns. James has achieved true mosaic detail in his work. As you would expect, the fit and finish are excellent. The sambar stag handle is very comfortable in the hand and provides a great hold.
