Description: James' knives are something to behold! His control over Damascus puts him in a tier with some of the best knifemakers in the world. Unlike many makers, who purchase mokume (Damascus forged from non-ferrous metals), James is an innovator who strives for something 'a little different'. Here, he has created two unique effects in his mokume. The guard and butt cap are some of the first mosaic mokume that I have seen to date. The spacer introduces materials that are extremely difficult to forge together and James has done this to perfection. A distal taper to the blade pulls the weight back into the handle for extreme control. The curved handle feels great in the hand. Excellent fit and finish.
