Description: Seattle native Jeff Driscoll's knives are unique, dramatic creations. A plumber by day and knifemaker by night, Jeff loves using handmade knives as his art canvas. Kona is his newest knife, inspired by the work of Mastersmith Jay Hendrickson.
The damascus blade was forged from carbon steels by Piotr Fedoraki. The pattern is deeply etched to provide a high contrast that can be seen from a distance. The thin blade will provide efficient slicing geometry with just enough belly for game processing tasks. Because the knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to oil the blade and natural wood and stag handle.
The handle is a central column of stag retaining its natural texture to provide a comfortable grip. A tribal style spacer made from Micarta and brass inlays are surrounded by koa wood spacers. Koa (Acacia koa) is a beautiful exotic wood that only grows on the Hawaiian islands. It is one of the most desirable woods in the world. A fileworked brass bolster and pommel finish the handle. The brass rear guard is overlaid over stainless damascus for an elegant effect.
To keep the knife close at hand, a Swedish style custom sheath made from koa wood with a leather upper is included.
Excellent work throughout!
