Description: Australian bladesmith Jason Heinemann clearly has an eye for the small details and is tremendously skilled in the forge. Jason began taking his bladesmithing career to the next level after taking classes at Australian bladesmithing school Tharwa Valley Forge in 2018 where he learned to create and refine complex damascus patterns. He currently prefers to make one-of-a-kind art knives with a focus on bowie knives, fighters, and daggers. This dagger is an impressive display of craftsmanship and could easily be the centerpiece of any collection!
The Fairbairn–Sykes fighting knife is a double-edged dagger with a foil grip. It was developed by William Ewart Fairbairn and Eric Anthony Sykes in Shanghai, based on ideas developed while serving on the Shanghai Municipal Police in China before World War II. It was made famous during World War II when issued to British Commandos, the Airborne Forces, the SAS and many other units, especially for the Normandy landings in June 1944.
This Fairbairn-Sykes Style Dagger by Jason Heinemann is very true to the original design. It is a spectacular homage that can't help but be the centerpiece of virtually any collection.
The san mai blade combines 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels, ensuring excellent edge holding and toughness. The flat ground blade features a perfectly symmetrical dagger grind. Daggers are one of the hardest blades to grind because it becomes extremely obvious if the blade is not ground perfectly.
The contoured and fluted handle is 416 stainless steel. The guard and pommel have a matching satin finish. The handle feels great in the hand and offers excellent grip.
The hand stitched leather sheath is true to the original design and will keep the knife close at hand.
Excellent work throughout!
