Description: Conny Persson's knives are an inspiration to knifemakers and collectors. His influence is easily seen in many of the other Nordic makers. Regrettably, for many years, very little of his work gets to the US. This exceptional dagger has been in a private collection. It has been meticulously cared for and by all appearances, Persson could have made it yesterday.
The five bar composite mosaic damascus blade has excellent contrast and very complex patterns. It shows Conny's skills at thier best. The central bars of mosaic damascus were forged using carbon steels and pure nickel, creating particularly high contrast. The firecracker pattern edge bars are forged from Uddeholm 15N20 and 20C carbon steels, ensuring the keenest possible edge.
The handle combines a complex mosaic damascus pattern with mammoth ivory scales and inlays. Cream toned mammoth ivory was used for the scales. Rare green and black toned ivory was used for the inlays. The end cap features stacked sections of mammoth ivory and mosaic damascus. A mosaic damascus finial completes the handle. This is among the most dramatic daggers to be featured on BladeGallery.
To keep the knife protected during transportation, a tooled brown leather sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
